This practical training package is focused on helping mental health professionals improve confidence and competence with providing psychotherapy to students and families in a school based environment.
You Receive:
Part I - Access to Private Study Videos
Participants receive links in their email to view private study videos on the YouTube channel Spanish for Mental Health Professionals.
The sections of the workshop are as follows:
I. The Initial Phone Call - La Llamada Inicial
II. Rapport Building and Symptom Relief - Personalismo y Desahogarse
III. Psycho-Education - Psicología y Educación
IV. Professional Recommendations - Consejos
Part II - Participants Study the Videos
We recommend participants spend a few hours viewing and/or listening to the videos as a preparation for the In Vivo sessions. Prepare yourself for the Workshop by practicing relevant pronunciation, vocabulary, sentences and questions.
Part III - Workbooks
Study and Practice written materials in advance of the training.

In Vivo Sessions:
A - Therapists take turns in the "Hot Seat" and participate in fun and challenging therapy sessions with Alfonso in character as your client. Practice implementing the vocabulary and concepts you learned from the videos and worksheets; practice using intake/assessment forms from your practice if applicable. (It's okay to be in Observer Mode if you are more of a beginner with Spanish, or are hesitant about a turn in the Hot Seat.)
B - Therapist Panel and Instructors help with comprehension, vocabulary, correct sentence structure for therapy-related dialogue, statements, questions and instructions. Therapist Panel provides guidance and commentary on cultural constructs, as well as clinical progress and goals of the session, legal and ethical issues.
You will gain confidence and skill to implement interventions with actual clients, or keep practicing until you feel ready.
