Welcome to Level B Assessment and Psycho-Social Evaluation

In this series of modules, Mental Health Professionals will practice delivering essential elements of Assessment and Psycho-Social Evaluation in Spanish. Therapists will practice topics such as: applied mental health assessment techniques for Initial Assessment of Abuse, Assessment of Medications and Substances, Assessment of Immigration Stress. Learn therapist questions; psycho-educational statements; reflecting statements; preparation for common client responses; therapist-client dialogue and role play.

This module is suitable for Mental Health Professionals, Interns and Graduate Students with Intermediate to Advanced Spanish.

OBJECTIVES

1.  ​Therapists will learn at least five STATEMENTS to use with a client to implement mental health assessment items in Spanish.
2.  Therapists will practice delivering at least five QUESTIONS when asking client for information pertinent to the assessment.
3.  Therapists will prepare RESPONSES to at least five client questions or statements that may occur during the assessment process.
4.  Therapists will master at least five ASSESSMENT ITEMS related to assessment of abuse, immigration stress and medications and/or substances

Spanish for Mental Health Professionals is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP. Spanish for Mental Health Professionals maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

  3. Perform repetition exercises. Pronounce, rehearse and practice speaking the material on the slides for the amount of time listed
  4. Complete Verification of Hours Forms: Record the date, time, and duration of your verbal repetition practice. Make sure to complete the time requirement and document.
  5. Complete and submit Test
  6. Complete and submit Course Evaluation Form
